"At Carowina Pool in the East Pilbara I sat on a log hidden behind a tree, watching and photographing the blue-winged Kookaburras.

Testing their patience - and also mine!

The hunters perching motionless watching and waiting, would suddenly drop into a dive to the water. There was a sand bar just under the surface where a side pool was emptying into the creek. Fish were occasionally escaping across this bar into the deeper water and were easy targets for the predators." - Philippa Nikulinsky
